: i am looking for info on White family members in Telfair county. i am in NC. my mother's father was Woodrow Wilson White, son of George W. White. i belive George's father was Steve White. below is the only other info i've been able to collect. : : George (married to Sara Jane Cannington) lived in Telfair county. He was a share cropper with 7 (?)children (all born in GA), but moved to NC (Gaston county) to look for work in mills. i'm not sure when the family moved, but would guess about 1920. at this point the only other info i have is based on George's obituary: : : George W. White - died 04/01/1940 (not sure of year), Mount Holly, NC : 64 years old when he died, so born about 1875/1876 : : surviving children: : daughter-Essie (don't know spouse's name) : daughter-Effie (married Doe Whitaker) : daughter-Jane (?) : son-Woodrow (married my maternal grandmother, Cleo Ester Beaty) : son-Troy (married Marcel, don't know last name) : son-Freddie (married Martha, don't know last name) : : surviving siblings, including where they lived at the time of George's death: : JA White (Baxley GA) : Oscar White (Lumber City GA) : Thomas White (Helna GA) : Mrs. Josephine Larfavors (Agusta GA) : Mrs. Sabie Dennis (Lumber City GA) : Mrs. Rozella Parkins (Macon GA) : : additional info i've collected: : George had another daughter-don't know name, but died at about 5 while the family still lived in GA. my mother told me she chocked on a peanut (??:)
