Hi Gloria, I have enjoyed exploring your Web Page. My mother, is Alma Gibbs Hammock. She grew up in Montgonery County (born 1920), the child of Julia Osborne Gibbs and Flournoy Gibbs. Grandmother Julia taught school in several locations in the area including Long Pond. Julia and Flournoy were married in 1913.

Julia moved to Montgomery County from Hiawassee, GA, but Flournoy was the son of local folks, James Warren Gibbs(born 1854 to Hiram Gibbs and Eliza Pittman) and Amanda Elizabeth McBride(born 1856 to John D. McBride and Mary J. Sharpe).

Although I have never visited the Cemetary, my mother tells me that Flournoy and his parents, James Warren Gibbs and Amanda Elizabeth McBride are buried in the Hughes Cemetary. She recalls that the gravesite of Flournoy was unmarked. He died in 1927. Grandmother Julia eventually moved to Dublin and is buried there.
