Hi, I was wondering if you could help me in finding out about my Grandmothers 1st husband.
His name is Wiley James Waters. He worked for the sheriff's dept. back in 1930.
He was shot to death while in the process of breaking up a moonshine ring. I have looked all over the web. for info. and can't seem to come up with anything.
I did notice when looking at the 2003 memorial of Fallen Officers there is a name that is almost the same. It says: Warren James Waters, and it says he died 11-30-1930. It seems strange that my would be Granddad died died 11-15-1930 and there names are almost the same, and they were killed in the line of duty!! Jeff Davis County wasn't that populated then.
Can somebody that knew anything help me?
I heard that they sealed the records on the case due to politics.

Tampa FL : Do you have any information on WASHINGTON WAYNE WATERS AND WIFE LAVINA DORA ANN WALDRON? According to a book written by ALLIE WATERS CASSELL, LAVINA DORA ANN WALDRON WATERS was buried on the SHADE PLACE. A relative has found the location, but I wonder if you have any written information that you can share. Thank you very much, I will really appreciate the information.
