I am trying to find information on this Appling County family. My grandmother left a family tree sketch that showed Jacob Henry THOMPSON, b. 3 Mar 1861 d. 15 Mar 1941, to be the son of Jacob T. THOMPSON and Sarah PRESCOTT (dau. of John P. and Martha PRESCOTT). Jacob T. died on the battlefield 31 May 1862 at Seven Pines, VA (CSA); Sarah preceded him in death, perhaps at or shortly after giving birth to her son. Jacob T. (perhaps for Thomas) was supposedly the son of Thomas THOMPSON and Elizabeth UNKNOWN, but I can find no record of this family, though they were all born in Appling County according to Nana's notes (Jacob T was supposedly one of 6 children born to Thomas and Elizabeth).

Jacob Henry had two older sisters, Martha and Elizabeth. The family lost touch with them after their parents died. One (don't know which one) may have been "adopted" by a DRAWDY family, though I can't find her with one, that may have subsequently moved to Florida.

Jacob Henry was raised by his Aunt Renee (Irene) PRESCOTT KNIGHT (which KNIGHT did she marry?)RAULERSON, and her husband, Jasper Newton RAULERSON (half-brother to Thomas Samuel RAULERSON). Jacob Henry married Jasper's niece, Tedia Eugenia RAULERSON (dau. of Thomas Samuel RAULERSON), in 1888 in Pierce County. They had 16 children, 13 of whom survived childhood. I descend from their first child, Maude Lee THOMPSON and her husband, George Elmore WATSON.

If any of this is familiar to anyone who'd like to share information, please contact me. I have information from Jacob Henry and Tedia THOMPSON on; what I need is information on Jacob T. and Sarah THOMPSON as well as their parents, Thomas and Elizbeth THOMPSON and John P. and Martha PRESCOTT, and siblings. Or, if anyone can suggest places or sources for me to search, I'd be most grateful. I'm beginning to think Jacob Henry was an alien dropped into Appling County at birth, and everyone supposedly before him was part of a large cover-up!
